Hosted by the Shanxi provincial government and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the first China (Taiyuan) International Coal and Energy New Industry Expo opened on September 17 in Taiyuan, capital city of Shanxi Province. Vice-Premier Wu Yi sent a congratulatory letter to the expo. State Councilor Hua Jianmin attended the opening ceremony and visited the expo.
On behalf of the State Council, Wu extended her congratulations to the coal expo and her welcome to Chinese and international guests attending the event. She noted that the expo would showcase the latest development in coal and energy new industry of China and the world, thus encouraging international cooperation in this area. The expo, she observed, would also give new impetus to the coalmining and related industries of Shanxi Province.
Hua visited the expo and examined the exhibition centers of Lu¡¯an ,Jiaomei, and Datong Coal Group. The expo evidenced China¡¯s determination to upgrade its traditional coal sector, expand international cooperation in energy, and build a stable, environment-friendly, energy-efficient model of economic development, Hua said.
The first China (Taiyuan) Coal Expo is a State-level energy expo co-hosted by Shanxi Provincial government and the Ministry of Commerce. 320 domestic and international enterprises from 18 countries around the world, including international industry giants such as GE, Sasol, ABB and Chinese energy heavyweights, were attracted to the event. During the expo, forums and seminars will be organized on topics concerning new energy, renewable energy, sustainable development of the energy industry, etc.
